Plot of the Turkish drama My Son
The story of the soap opera My son (Oğlum) revolves around İlyas and Melike Özyürek, a couple living in the city of Şile together with their two sons, Ceren and Kaan, the latter of whom is 6 years old.
One night, Melik, excited about receiving his first paycheck, goes to check out some stores, which makes him late for Kaan’s after-school party. On the other hand, Kaan, while waiting for his mother in the school garden, starts following a hedgehog to a park.
On the other hand, Efe, Zeynep and Tugrul’s son, is also at the park. Efe is a child who is disconnected from his parents and spends much of his time playing video games.
After a while, Efe realizes that Kaan has disappeared. This prompts Melike and İlyas to embark on a frantic search through the streets of Şile. But it is not only the young Kaan who has disappeared, but also Efe.
Thus unfolds this story that tells us the vicissitudes of two families who, despite being different, share in common a painful event that makes their lives change forever.
One of the highlights of this series is its strong message that deeply touches parents, since it excellently exposes the psychological problems that parents create, without knowing the consequences for their children. Undoubtedly, a drama that you must watch.
