We can’t get enough of Turkish TV dramas, so much so that when we finish watching a soap opera, we immediately start looking for another series that can hook us as the previous one did.
And since we know that you are part of this phenomenon, this time we bring you a Turkish telenovela that is not very famous, but quite interesting. We are talking about “Gonul”, also known as “Remember Heart” in some countries, whose original title is Hatırla Gönül.
Plot of the Turkish series Gonul
The Turkish TV Series Gonul tells the story of Gönül, who grew up in an orphanage as a child. However, she put all her effort, determination and dedication to become a good nurse specialized in the field of surgery.
In her work field, in the hospital where she works, she gets to know a renowned surgeon named Tekin. This surgeon, apart from being a high level professional in the medical field, is also a very attractive man.
As time goes by, Tekin falls in love with Gönül, and the two share many things in common, especially their childhood. Both had a hard childhood, and yet they both managed to get ahead.
Tekin and Gonul decide to get married. Their relationship was going great, it was a perfect love story. But, not everything is perfect, and this dream relationship takes a turn on their wedding day. Tekin’s ex-girlfriend shows up, who has the sole purpose of revealing a mountain of Tekin’s compromising secrets.
Naturally, the doctor denies all of his ex-wife’s statements, even denying that he ever met her. However, this does not entirely convince Gönül , which makes him begin to distrust him.
One day, however, the trigger of the story occurs: Tekin’s ex-girlfriend is found dead a few days later. From then on, Gönül is convinced that Tekin is a dangerous man, so she decides to leave him.

Contrary to what you may think, this series is really short. In total, it consists of 13 episodes that make up a single season. Each episode is between 120 and 140 minutes long.

The soap opera was directed by Neslihan Yeşilyurt and written by Deniz Yeşilgün and Esra Çetek.
As for its cast, it is worth mentioning the presence of Gökçe Bahadır, also known for the Netflix series “Club Istanbul”, and Engin Öztürk, who starred in the Netflix series “50m2”.
