Plot of the Turkish TV Series Captivity
The protagonist of the soap opera is Orhun, a successful businessman who grew up in a wealthy but loveless family with Nihan, his twin sister, his younger sister Nursah and his cold mother, Afife.
Some time ago, Nihan went to Eritrea to volunteer as a doctor, but he lost contact with his family. For this reason, Orhun sets out on a journey to the African country in order to find his sister and bring her back home.
While searching for his sister, Orhun encounters Hira, a poor girl who is a slave of the traffickers.
However, Orhun’s life comes crashing down when he discovers that Nihan was murdered by a local gang. His inquiries soon lead him to Hira, who was tricked by the gang into poisoning Nihan.
From then on, Orhun weaves an elaborate plan to carry out his revenge. His idea is to take Hira home with him, but not exactly to save her from her life of servitude, but to better perpetrate his revenge.
However, Orhun’s plans change when his mother confesses to him that she has been lying to him all this time about his father’s death. At that moment, the young man decides to marry Nihan for the pure purpose of tormenting his mother, as she hates people of lower status and is obsessed with “pure blood”.
