Desperate Housewives is a Turkish adaptation of the famous American series of the same name (Desperate Housewives), which was created by Marc Cherry and aired from 2004 to 2012. The series has had different versions in recent years, including an Ecuadorian, Argentinean and, of course, a Turkish one.

Plot of the Turskish TV series Desperate Housewives
The plot of the Turkish soap opera Desperate Housewives (Umutsuz Ev Kadınları) kicks off by showing us Handan, a woman living in Rose Dead who one morning without warning commits suicide. This will dismay everyone around her, prompting her close friends to try to uncover the mystery behind the suicide.
On the other side of the story is Nermin, a meticulous and order-obsessed wife who is devastated by her husband’s unexpected request for divorce. On the other side, the former beauty queen and now housewife, Zeliş, is somewhat bewildered by the interest shown by Levent, the young university student in the neighborhood.
On the other hand, there is Yasemin, whose husband left her for a “girl”. This woman will meet Sinan, who has just moved into the street.
In this way, the story of the soap opera unfolds, showing us the vicissitudes of the different characters and the different families that make up the neighborhood.
It is worth mentioning that, to give the story a more disturbing aura, it is narrated by a voice-over, which, during 136 episodes, is the voice of Handa, the most important character of the series and whose suicide is decisive in much of the telenovela.
