The Turkish TV drama A Tale of Roses (Gül Masali) tells the story of Gonca Aydin, who grew up in the city of Istanbul and, having lost her mother, had to struggle from an early age to cope with the difficulties of life.
Emotional and impulsive, young Gonca takes many risks. However, she is also a noble woman who courageously faces injustice, following her conscience. But her character is also cheerful and fun, which allows her to see life with good eyes.
Gonca, despite the difficulties, was able to study at the university and obtain her professional degree.
One day the girl receives news from Isparta, her mother’s hometown, that she is the owner of an inheritance, a house and a rose garden. In addition to the obvious economic benefit, the news arouses the interest of Gonca, who sees it as a new life and the opportunity to learn about her family’s past.
In Isparta lives Toprak Atabey, who is a young architect who does not practice his profession because he has dedicated himself to the family business, which is the cultivation of lavender, something that gives him pleasure since he loves life in the countryside.
When Toprak meets Gonca, it is love at first sight. However, the secrets of Gonca’s family will be a challenge to the love of the two young hopefuls.
Seasons and episodes
The series premiered in June 2022, and so far only has 30 episodes aired in a single season. It is not known how many episodes the novela will have in total, nor is it known whether or not it will have a second season.
The latter has become very uncertain in Turkish telenovelas since, if they do not have a good audience rating, they end up being canceled. We hope this will not be the case with Gül Masali.
