One of the most interesting Turkish series of 2023 is Şhahmaran, a drama where romance, intrigue and mysticism amalgamate to offer a story that grabs you from the first episode.

In this article we will tell you everything you need to know about this fantasy and romance series that has positioned itself as one of the most watched on Netflix.

Plot of the Turkish TV series Shahmaran

The story centers on a particular community called Mar, whose inhabitants feel they are descendants of Sahmaran. Shahmaran is a mythological being whose upper half of her body is that of a beautiful woman and the rest of her body that of a snake.

To this community comes Sahsu, a girl who sets out on a journey to confront her grandfather for abandoning her mother. However, what Sahsu does not know is that this peculiar community is awaiting the fulfillment of a prophecy that involves her. When the young woman meets Maran, nothing will ever be the same again.

The plot of the novel is based on several oriental legends. It is in fact a story loaded with mysticism and symbolism. For example, the snake, fire, water and wind are part of this symbolism that the series deals with throughout its chapters.

The story has mysteries and plot twists. The suspense is evident from the beginning, where we are shown how Sahsu feels a bit uneasy in a town that seems strange and foreign to her.
On the other hand, the plot also has a good dose of romance, as a special bond will emerge between her and Maran. Thus, this series has everything: romance, drama, mystery, fantasy and mysticism.
