Biography of Hande Erçel

Hande Erçel was born on November 24, 1993 in the city of Bandirma, the fruit of the relationship between Aylin Erçel and Kaya Erçel. Hande’s childhood was somewhat particular as it was her grandparents who raised her and her sister in their hometown.

Although her father wanted her to study medicine, and she also agreed with him, her acting talent was evident from a very young age, which she also realized, knowing that her future lay in the artistic world.

By virtue of the above, the young Hande decided to go to live in the city of Istanbul to begin studies at the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, entering the Traditional Turkish Arts department. However, in 2014 she abandoned her studies because she landed a role in the series Çalıkuşu, in which she played the character of Zahide.

Career path.

Hande’s career started in 2014 with a minor role in the series Tatar Ramazan. However, her first supporting role would come a year later with the series Çalıkuşu. That same year she would participate in other soap operas, such as Çılgın Dersane Üniversitede and Hayat Ağacı.

However, her first leading role would come in 2015, with the series Güneşin Kızları, in which she played the character Selin Yılmaz. This performance earned her nominations for four different awards, of which she won three.

The following year, in 2016, Ercel starred in the series that definitively catapulted her to fame: Hayat, also known as “Aşk Laftan Anlamaz” and in our language as “Love without barriers”. After the resounding success enjoyed by this soap opera, Hande participated in other series, such as Siyah İnci, Halka, Azize and Love is in the air (Sen Çal Kapımı).

In 2020, the young Hande would make her first and so far only appearance on the big screen, being part of the cast of the movie Mest-i Aşk.
