Plot of the Turkish TV series Runaway Brides
The plot of the Turkish drama centers on the journey of three women who abandon their respective weddings to pursue a dream. The most curious thing is that none of these women know each other, but they all flee their wedding on the same day and board the same plane to Istanbul. The sight of three women in wedding dresses was so scandalous that the image went viral in all the media until it became national news.
When these women arrived in the Turkish capital they were already famous, however, that doesn’t make their adjustment any easier.
Each of them has fled the wedding for a different reason: Sebnem was fired from her job and, at the last minute of the wedding, set out to win back her relationship with her ex-partner; Almila ran away from the wedding to pursue a man she has only seen in dreams; and Kainat, meanwhile, escaped a marriage arranged by her family to pursue her platonic love from high school.
These three women, though disparate, share something in common, and that is that they are running away from a life that definitely does not make them happy. They are all, moreover, looking for a different kind of love, a new kind, perhaps more pure, genuine and tangible.
