Plot of the Turkish drama “1001 Nights”
As its name suggests, 1001 Nights is based on the environmental book of the same name.
The story centers on Scheherazade Eviyaoglu, a talented architect whose husband has died and whose son is suffering from leukemia and needs surgery.
As Scheherazade does not have enough money to pay for the bone marrow transplant her son needs, she goes to her father-in-law, but he refuses to help her. So she decides to talk to her boss named Onur.
Onur is a man who does not trust women because he was cheated on a long time ago, and because the sad memory lingers in his mind that his father abandoned him to go with another woman. Onur is also a lover of reading and of the book “The Thousand and One Nights”.
Onur agrees to lend him the money on one condition: to spend one night together, a night that both would later call “the black night”.
This is how the story begins to unfold, giving rise to a series of love and interpersonal relationships, which will show you from a different angle a facet of the culture and society of Turkey.
