Plot of the Turkish TV series Meryem
The story of the soap opera Meryem, also known as “Tale of Innocence”, revolves around its protagonist: Meryem, who is a woman who is deeply in love with Oktay, being her fiancé and whom she trusts completely.
However, during a rainy night, the lives of three people change drastically. She decides to help Oktay when she is sure that she will soon join her life forever with the man she loves, after Oktay, while drunk, has negligently run over a woman, ending her life.
The problem comes in when Meryem, unaware of exactly how the accident happened, decides to cover up for her fiancé, as she fears that his career will be damaged by the crash and alcohol incident.
It is there that Meryem is accused of murder, at the same time as the dead woman’s fiancé vows to take revenge. Meanwhile, Oktay does not hesitate to accuse Meryem in order to get rid of the charge. The woman who trusted him is sent to prison to serve an 8-year sentence.
Later, Meryem meets Savas, the dead woman’s fiancé, and joins him to discover the whole truth and get justice.

This soap opera has only 30 episodes, all condensed into a single season. It aired from August 2, 2017, to February 28, 2018.
